With support from The Rockefeller Foundation, The Center for Global Enterprise (CGE) will offer two digital internships in 2016 to help African platform companies solve real world business challenges.  The internships aim to expand opportunities to provide workforce and workplace training for populations that have traditionally had unequal access to business management and technical training.

CGE’s Alpha Team program brings together a global and diverse group of individuals including students, academic faculty, and business professionals.

In less than two weeks, over 300 applicants from 34 countries applied to the internship program.  From there, a team of 21 participants has been selected to begin the 6-week project on February 21. The Alpha Team will help the sponsor company, Rasello, a high-growth Tanzania-based enterprise software company expand across Africa to become a global player.

The Alpha Team is an offering of CGE’s Global Scholars programming, and is guided by CGE program managers and expert business mentors, ensuring engagement, collaboration, and actionable results.

In 2015, CGE’s inaugural Alpha Team helped The London Taxi Company envision the future of the taxi market. “The London Taxi Company Alpha Team was an enriching experience and a huge success for team members and our sponsor,” said Ira Sager, VP of CGE’s global learning initiatives. “We are thrilled to start working with companies in Africa this year.”
