Dawn Leaness

Managing Director, AWEC

Dawn Leanness is the Managing Director of the African Women Entrepreneurship Cooperative, a program founded at the Center for Global Enterprise, where she is responsible for program design and management.

Dawn has dedicated her career to education, philanthropy, and social entrepreneurship and is passionate about supporting innovative small businesses and NGOs in building sustainable financial models and infrastructures to facilitate their growth. Before joining AWEC, Dawn ran an innovative urban charter school and started her own entrepreneurial ventures in food and fitness.

Dawn graduated from Princeton University with a degree in International Politics and Gender Studies and received her MBA in Non-Profit Management and Leadership and Organizational Transformation from Boston University’s Questrom School of Business.
