Nineteen small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) from diverse sectors and locations around the world are participating in the Cyber Readiness Institute (CRI) pilot, focused on improving the cyber readiness of SMBs to improve the security of global value chains.
The three-month pilot offers a preview of the Cyber Readiness Program, developed by CRI and experts from the organization’s member companies, as well as subject matter experts in the field. The Program focuses on four key issues identified by the CRI team to help SMBs become more cyber secure. These issues include password authentication, software patching, phishing, and the use of USB flash and external hard drives. The Program also provides a decision-making tool to help companies move their functions to the cloud, as well as a cyber incident response plan template organizations can customize.
The pilot companies – located in countries including the United States, Switzerland, and Egypt– will progress through the Program and implement its content and tools. Throughout the pilot, the companies will provide feedback on the Program and baseline metrics to the CRI team that measure their progress. The feedback and metrics will be used to revise and improve CRI’s Program prior to the global launch later this year.
