Karen Sippel is the co-creator and Managing Director of the African Women Entrepreneurship Cooperative, a program founded at the Center for Global Enterprise.
Ms. Sippel has dedicated nearly 20 years to crafting strategies and stories for companies and organizations in the public, private, and nonprofit sectors. Her current role combines her passions for entrepreneurship, technology, continuous learning and improvement, and the thrill of building new programs.
Prior to joining CGE, Ms. Sippel advised public and private sector clients at the world’s top public affairs agencies and was twice an early employee at VC-funded startups.
Ms. Sippel has advised small business owners around the world and served for seven years on the board of directors of Brainfood, a Washington, DC-based youth development nonprofit. She graduated from the University of Virginia with a Bachelor of Arts in History.
